I was voted DD

Tonight, I tagged along with my bros and their friends to hit the Gaslamp District. As we were driving to downtown, I announced, "You know what, I think I'm not going to drink tonight." My 2 brothers and their friend gasped and started laughing. Apparently, they had already voted that I was going to be DD (designated driver) tonight. I was not part of the decision-making process. Needless to say, it was nice of me to volunteer.

I did end up having 1 pint of beer tonight at the first bar. I guess I shouldn't be suprised that Hoegaarden White was among the 100+ beers on tap at the Yard House. Even though I was DD, I figured I deserved a pint if this Belgium beer was on tap. This beer brought back good memories from my recent trip to London where I first experienced this beer that doesn't taste like a beer. I can now re-live that moment in any Yard House (San Diego, Long Beach, Newport Beach). Even if you don't like beer, the Hoegaarden White is quite refreshing.

We spent the rest of the night at On Broadway, which I have confirmed over and over as my favorite club of all time. I have yet to find another club of it's caliber. The variety in music within the 5 different rooms cannot be matched elsewhere. There is Club Pure in Vegas, but nothing in Los Angeles that I know of. I love the privelege of being on a guest list which saves us the astronomical cover charge of $20. Even though I was essentially sober, dancing is easy in that atmosphere. If you like to dance and you happen to be in San Diego, On Broadway is worth checking out.
