Lazy or anti-social or rude?

I wasn't a fan of text messaging in the past because it was cumbersome to do it on my old cell phone. Moreover, my service provider charged me an arm and a leg for it, since it was internet messaging, not SMS messaging. Anyhow, now my plan includes text messaging. Even though I am predominantly an "E" (extrovert), I can be anti-social (AKA "I" for introvert). Sometimes, I send a text message instead of picking up the phone.

Pros:

• Quick Q&A
• Short and sweet messages
• Friendly reminders
• Can avoid an unwanted conversation
• No interruptions
• Convenient in hush-hush areas, i.e. movie theatre, library

Cons:

• Slow to type with thumbs
• Possible misunderstanding w/o body language
• Time lag between messages
• Evidence of communication (for nosy people to find)
• Ok or rude to pick up a phone call during a meeting, but unacceptable to respond to a text message
