Today, I picked up some travel guide books at AAA. Even though I have a friend in each city, I want something tangible to review beforehand here and carry with me there. I was happy with Lonely Plant for Japan last summer, so I decided to get Lonely Planet for the Best of London. Unfortunately, there wasn't any available for Paris. I have yet to peruse these books, but I'm open to personal recommendations. Suggestions so far include the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, and Notre Dame.

On a side note, I'm quite impressed with the services offered by AAA. Besides the obvious services, like maps and auto insurance, AAA also provides:
a) Notary services
b) Passport photo taking
c) DMV auto registration renewal (you get your sticker instantly, no waiting)
d) Plastic spare key in case you (or I) lock oneself out of the car
