Single and ready to mingle

My friend invited me to join her for a singles party in a few weeks. She is supposed to bring 2 single friends. She wants to bring one male and one female, because she's worried there will be too many girls. Good strategy, smart girl. We would have to find a friend that we like but don't mind setting up. Hmm...

I've never been to a singles party. I normally don't have a true single status, but I guess I do now. This will be interesting, because I hate dating. My other friend went to a singles party for Halloween, which I thought it was odd at first. However, at least you know in advance that everyone there wants to meet someone else, no guessing who's taken or married. I normally go out to just to enjoy the music and friends, not to meet people (AKA boys, believe it or not). This will be a new experience. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Eek.
