Yes, I fell on my face

The Crane Pose: one of the hardest poses in yoga so far (at least, for me). If you don't believe me, try it out for yourself. Click here for step by step instructions or just imitate the guy in the picture below.

The Crane Pose

Only after you have given it a try, can you laugh at me when I say that I fell during this pose. Yes, I oaffed it in yoga class last week. I made a verb out of oaf. Since we arrived late, we were in the front of the room. What's worse is that my (cute) guy friend was right next to me during a graceful moment of my life. To top it off, the yoga instructor tried to assure me, "Don't worry, I've fallen several times in yoga"- mind you, she was wearing a microphone! So if you didn't hear the thud during our quiet yoga class, then you won't miss the announcement on the overhead speakers.

I was worried that I may have shattered my cheek bone. But there was no piercing pain, just a bit of soreness. "What happens in yoga, stays in yoga", right? However, the next night, one of my best friends K noticed a bruise on my cheek. Crap. I had to fess up. I wasn't going to tell anybody, but now I couldn't hide it. I might as well tell the whole world (or at least the blogosphere) about one of the most embarrassing and painful moments of my life. However, you can't laugh until you've tried it, the Crane Pose.
