I fought and I won

I'm pleased to share an update on my parking tickets. My parking ticket for the expired meter last month was dismissed. I submitted a simple fax requesting that the meter be checked for calibration or accuracy. The City of Hermosa said I was right, the meter was faulty, so the $35 fine was waived- YAHOO! I've used this excuse one other time in the past, so I wonder if they really do check the meters.

How did I know to question that? Once upon a time, I was watching the local news where a little girl performed her own experiment on parking meters throughout the city in San Diego. She found that many parking meters were not accurate. What a smart little girl! It pays to watch the news...
