I'm in pain- Shoot me.
I've got cramps. This will be my second period for the past decade, since I've switched from the Depo shot to the Seasonale pill. At least with Seasonale, it should only be one period per quarter. Regardless, cramps suck. Did I say that already?
In the past, people asked me, "Isn't it weird to not have a period? Don't you get worried?"
No! Why would I miss cramps? Why would I miss bloating? Why would I miss wearing tampons or pads? The failure rate of the shot is almost nill. There is no chance of forgetting within a 12 week period. I can wake up and not worry about taking a stupid pill.
For those who missed my blog post about the shot/pill, I've got osteopenia. Osteopenia happens before osteoporosis. Research has shown that a long-term effect of using the Depo Provera shot results in a significant loss of calcium, which puts girls like me a risk for osteoporosis. Being Asian doesn't help either. I'm lactose-intolerant as well, so my calcium intake is lower than it should be.
Bottomline: I switched to the pill this year and cramps suck. Hopefully, this won't last too long.
Why am I blogging about this? I'm sharing the pain. I'm venting. I'm not sure if I have other symptoms, but... Boys, watch out for PMS'ing sMhyla. Blah!
