I'm single again.

In short, that's what it said in an email from a guy.  Hmm...  Why did he make that announcement?  This is out of context, but what if he is:

 

a) A previous boyfriend

b) Someone I used to date

c) Someone who may be interested in me

d) Just a friend

e) An acquaintence

 

Does it even make a difference?  Or I am reading into this too much?  I know this may be insufficient information to make a judgement call.  However, I don't think I would make such an announcement to the world (but that could be because I like to wallow in my own pain).
