Photo checks???

I do all my financial transactions on-line, if I can help it. Once in awhile, you have to write a check. Or sometimes you need to submit a voided check to establish an account, like direct deposit. Well, I have run out of stupid checks. I know checks don't cost that much, but I think it's a waste of money. If I do get checks, I want Dilbert checks (with duplicates) which cost $18 plus tax and shipping. During my Google hunt for checks, I found out that Wal-Mart sells checks. Geez, you can get anything at Wal-Mart now. Wal-Mart checks only cost $8, but they don't have Dilbert. They've got all family-friendly, like Winnie the Pooh and other Disney characters/movies, or plain ones. Wal-Mart is not targeting nerdy/professional single people like me.

The other "discovery of the day" was Photo Checks. Maybe this has been around for awhile, don't know since it's been 5 years since I've ordered checks. I wonder who would want their face plastered on their checks? I guess you won't need photo ID for verification anymore. This does seem similar to credit cards with your photo. However, you're not limited to the picture being your mug shot. You can have your best friend on your checks. Yes, I saw a check design for pets. I'm not a pet-lover, so I'm not their target audience. This could be a (corny) gift idea for someone you know with a pet. The other picture example was someone's wedding picture. I guess sappy couples would dig it. Checks are on not on my wish list.
