I went to church today

Surprise. I haven't been for awhile. My parents used to force me to go. Someone once told me that I was a "recovering Catholic". That's funny. Honestly, I'm agnostic (not atheist). There could be a God, but I just haven't seen the light. My friend asked me to go to church with her, so I went. It wasn't Catholic, but probably a non-demoninational Christian. I won't go every single week, but if someone is passionate about something, I'll try it once. Plus, I had nothing else to do this Sunday morning (besides sleeping of course). Lastly, she must be a really good friend, since she woke me up at 8:30am to get ready for church at 9:30am. No way I can do that all the time (I barely get up for work on weekdays, much less getting up early on the weekends). However, I said "no" to my other friend who wanted us to be at the 8:00am session- that's asking too much of me, sorry. I'm not a morning person, to say the least.

The pastor this morning was HILARIOUS! He used to be a professional baseball player- an interesting switch to the holy life, I must say. Combined with his sense of humor, he was an excellent speaker. I got to laugh for free this morning, while re-learning some life lessons. That's one good thing about religion - it teachs you good values. Today was: He who has not sinned, may cast the first stone. I should remember that when a friend judges another friend.

This might sound simple (about the good values), nothing extraordinary, however one of my best friends made a good point once... Even though he's not religious himself, he doesn't mind raising his (future) kids with a religion, because it will teach them good values. Interesting thought. However, I think it takes one more step: the parents must believe in it (whether it's religion or whatever), in order for the kids to embrace it as well.

That's enough religious talk for me now. Happy Sunday, a day of rest. I wish I could have more Sundays.

Note: If you're religious, please don't judge me.
