Cool Tool: Flickr Uploadr
First of all, Flickr is an awesome photo hosting site with a community. The setup is almost perfect- there's always room for improvement. Anyhow, it can be painstaking when you want to upload multiple pictures at once. The default method allows for uploading a maximum of 10 pictures, one at a time.
The Flickr Uploadr tool lets you:
- Drag and paste the pictures OR select one file at a time
- Add as many pictures as you want (don't know if there is a limit)
- Rotate pictures before uploading
- Add tags to the set of pictures
- Create a new set (applicable to premium members only)
- After completing the upload, you can "view" your pics, at which time you can add to each picture: title, description, and/or more tags.
I wish that Google had bought Flickr, so that Picasa could sync with Flickr. It's still possible to blog directly and indirectly from Flickr, but the edits in Picasa are not captured unless you "save a copy". I love how the edits in Picasa can be uploaded to Kodak Gallery via Picasa, so I don't have to go to KodakGallery.com anymore for uploading. Bottomline: Flickr Uploadr makes life easier in the digital photography world and blogosphere. What's next?
