Happy Birthday to you!
Ok, I've covered all my bases now, right? You can't say that I forgot....
I will be aware that my friend's birthday is approaching, however I typically forget on the actual day. For example, it was the end of final exams week in college, so I offered my Physics homework and exams to my roomie/best friend who was signed up for that class next quarter. With a smile, I added on, "This is an early birthday gift." She responded, "My birthday was 2 days ago." Oops. From then on, I never forgot the date of her birthday again, June 8th.
After that lesson learned, I now greet people in advance. Remembering the specific day is harder than the month, so.... My trick is to send them an e-card at the beginning of the month (assuming they get one, in the first place). Early is better than late, right? I also signed up for BirthdayAlarm.com, but that only works if my friends take the 2 minutes to sign up. This free website sends me an email to remind about friends' birthdays. If you want me to remember, then set up an email notice for me via BirthdayAlarm.com. Otherwise, you'll hear from me, "Every day should be your birthday." Oh wait, that's the response for Valentine's Day.
Happy Birthday for Winter Babies,
