Bad teeth = Bulimic?

My guy friend was telling me about a girl he had met recently. This girl had a nice body, but her teeth weren't so good. Specifically, her gums were discolored, blackened. The other oddity: she turned down his dinner invitation, but suggested meeting up for drinking and dancing. That was a first for him- what kind of girl turns down a free dinner??

My instant response: Maybe she's bulimic. The acid from throwing up will ruin teeth and gums. Check out her hands if she has bite marks and/or her nails look gross. This means she has problems that are deeper than food itself. I don't know firsthand, but I think I have a friend who's bulimic.

Later, when I asked him what happened, my guy friend had decided to not pursue that girl. "Too much drama." He did Google it and everything I said was true. Perfect teeth aren't a requirement per se, but there is a minimum standard. It's not necessarily being superficial, but it may be less pleasant to kiss someone. Since I had braces, I'm more critical about teeth, so I totally understand his point of view.
