Wamoola-4-Schools Program

I just learned of a great way to support your local schools. Washington Mutual Bank is offering a reward program where a donation is made for every dollar you spend on your WaMu debit/credit card. Of course, I prefer to earn the reward for myself, but that is not an option. The next best person who should earn it will be the kids. If you use WaMu banks and have 1 minute to sign up, log into your account and/or go to this website, https://www.wamoolaforschools.com. It's easy and took about 1 minute.

You can sponsor any school of your choice, or you can pick the same one as me: Kelly Elementary School in Compton, CA. I figure that one needs it more than Coronado High School where I grew up. WaMu also posts how much each school has earned in the program to date, which I find interesting.

This is a nice way to passively support education for kids (hint hint). For more active volunteering, I will start participating in the "Reading to Kids" program in Los Angeles. Let me know if you can spend the 2nd Saturday morning per month reading to elementary school kids. These are great ways to give back to the community. I'm on a volunteering kick right now, if you haven't noticed.
