Formatting my new blog

I like how formatting is flexible in Blogger as opposed to Xanga. I just changed it to show fewer posts on the front page and to archive more often. Not sure if I like it.

Question: How many posts should be listed on the front page? i.e. past week (short content) or past month (long page), etc.

Question: How often should I archive? i.e. every week, every month, etc.
